I have developed a recent, almost all consuming obsession to...FOOD. FoOoOoOoOoOoD! Love the stuff. Is there anything created on earth that is more enjoyable? When broke it's the best thing to provide a little variety in life (yes, it has been a loooooong summer). Recently discovered this website (http://www.cookingcute.com/gallery.htm) of someone who makes bento and takes pictures of them. Kawaii!!! So mouthwatering, would try it myself if I had the time/resources/could be arsed. Lately I've attempted to make steamed chinese buns, daifuku, sweet potato pie, masala chai and lamb biryani, all with varying success to say the least. I'm building myself up to try fried ice-cream next - ummmm, fattening... Talking of fattening, why do healthy foods taste so crap? Okay, most fruits are really nice, I'll eat a grape any day, but take celery for example. Celery does a brilliant job of reminding you that you're eating a PLANT, the cellulose is inescapable. I'm sure they lied to us when they said it's suitable for human consumption. Watermelon and cucumber seriously taste like nothing, it's only suitable for putting on your face. And the other day I tried soy yoghurt. My God, that stuff tastes like nothing on earth. If you ever wondered what curd and whey is, go buy natural soy yoghurt. Double blurgh! I hear it's impossible to make a good tasting fat free donut and I have to say hell yes. I must grudgingly admit that food must have fat or sugar for it to be worthy of anything, though that doesn't explain why I like Shredded Wheat; I think it's an outlier.
